Tri-County Wireless Inc. is a Premium Retail Agent for Verizon Wireless, a Direct TV Retailer, an Authorized Franchise Dealer for Radio Shack Corporation and the parent company of Game Time Games, a retailer of video games and systems. Tri-County Wireless offers a variety of solutions for today’s wireless lifestyles. Additional merchandise includes home entertainment, personal electronics and related accessories – cables, cords, connectors and batteries. Tri-County Wireless was established in August 2002 with a small storefront in downtown Granite Falls, N.C. and has grown to eight stores in four counties including a Radio Shack dealership and two video retail stores. With over 20 years of retail and management experience, owners Larry and Robin Minton saw the potential in serving the tri-county area as a Verizon Wireless agent and opened a second store in downtown Valdese, N.C. in January 2003. Realizing the demand for “America’s best network”, another store was opened four months later in Lenoir N.C. at the Food Lion Shopping Center. The rapidly growing family business was incorporated in December 2003. The first order of business for Tri-County Wireless, Inc. was to purchase the Radio Shack Dealer franchise in Taylorsville, N.C. This location became the exclusive Verizon Wireless Retailer for Alexander County. In January of this year, Tri-County Wireless/Radio Shack was chosen as the #1 dealer franchise for their district, becoming only one of 29 franchise dealerships in the United States to be selected for this award in 2009. Tri-County Wireless, Inc. has won many awards including two of Verizon Wireless’ most prestigious sales awards for indirect agents, one for phenomenal year-over-year growth. In addition, Tri-County Wireless has been awarded the “Best Wireless Provider” by the citizens of Caldwell County for five consecutive years. This is the award we are most proud of since it is a reflection of how we are perceived by the customers we serve. In March of 2007, Tri-County Wireless opened Game Time Games in Lenoir N.C., a video retail store specializing in sales of new and used video games and systems. A second store was opened in 2008 in the Wal-mart Shopping Center in Morganton, N.C. Larry and Robin Minton have created an organization built on family values and integrity with an emphasis on customer service.
